Pret has always been a disaster pricing wise, the Starbucks there is at least 30% more expensive than any other Starbucks I've ever been to, and I just paid 12 euros for a sandwich and some sweets at Carrefour Express

- You should not be afraid of deleting caches
- Your system should be performant enough for regular use without a cache
- Deleting the entire thing at random should be fine, it will re-populate
- Caches are, by definition, not critical infrastructure
I keep seeing people upset about losing their caches and am starting to feel like this is an unpopular opinion?

I'll let you use Rust, a desktop environment that looks like it's from 20 years ago, and a phone where you compiled the kernel yourself. It doesn't matter. Just stop shitting on things people enjoy okay?

*open fedi*
there are people arguing about operating systems
*close fedi*
some people need to look up what "practicality" means. You can use things outside of what the "this is literally the best thing ever" people endorse. Or go a step further and embrace it like I do! C++ and Zig (not memory safe!), JS (clown language!), an iPhone (Apple fucking sucks!), GNOME (ew it looks so modern!). Jeez...

No, upstream does not owe you an issue tracker. Shaming people for protecting themselves from burnout is vile. Read the license again, THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND

with the caveat that they can't retroactively revoke the license of existing code, which makes community-led forks in such cases pretty straightforward :blobcat3c:

:kiesel: I finally did a write-up about all of my recent performance work on Kiesel! TL;DR: the benchmark that used to take 50 minutes to complete now takes 5 :caret:

I did a comparison with my FP3 years ago if you want to get a better idea of the difference! It's just pictures but I made it during my "everything needs to be vuejs" phase so it uses that :neocat_floof_explode:
