The bad news is that a #wind direction shift and passing #cold front has allowed the #wildfire #smoke from the #BoundaryWaters region to cover nearly all of the #Northland.
Air quality readings are bad...very bad! In fact, they are the worst readings EVER recorded in #Minnesota.
This #weather concern continues the next several days. Do your best to stay safe.

Happy #Tuesday afternoon from the #Northland!
The good news, #weather wise, for our region is that the #heat and #humidity have dropped to more #seasonal averages.
A few spots near the #Canadian border may also see some #showers at times...

8 P.M. #RADAR UPDATE:
After a few new warnings, no #severe #thunderstorm #warnings, or even a #watch, are in effect in the #Northland at this time.
Heavy #rainfall has led to a couple #Flood Advisory alerts, one in the Iron Range and one in the Arrowhead.
Conditions will improve going through the night.

As #forecasted, the South Shore and Upper Peninsula regions have seen the most #snowfall in the #Northland, with more snow falling the rest of today and tonight.
#Winds have been #strong, with #gusts of 40+ mph last night and Wednesday morning. They will slowly calm through Thursday.

AIR QUALITY ISSUES TO PERSIST:
Thanks to a #high-pressure system expected to stay over the #Northland the rest of this week, #wildfire #smoke from Canada hitching a ride with it will remain in the region through Saturday.
The #AirQuality #Alert for #Minnesota will continue through Saturday afternoon. I wouldn't be surprised if it extended past noon Saturday for #Wisconsin and the #UpperPeninsula.

What happen today with #NOAA is not right at any level. As a TV #meteorologist, I see them as colleagues in this crazy #weather world, all trying our best to try to understand it.

The one exception I would give is if a local media outlet named a storm.
I know of a TV station where I grew up in northeast Wisconsin that does this whenever a Winter Storm Warning is issued for their area.
Makes sense for them to do it, but not a national outlet for every mid-latitude cyclone that comes through at least once a week. Overkill!

Found you there, and it's the same situation for me. Mastodon will be my first choice, then Blue Sky. I'll have to find a platform that will let me post on both at the same time.

Will still be a few weeks before we get any snow around here...

We saw some 70s in spots on Wednesday, but everyone cooled back to the 50s on Thursday, so a more gradual cooldown compared to the Twin CIties.
