@nprofile…y789 An Italian woman took my reserved seat and just told me to sit somewhere else. Everyone just looked as if *I* were the one making the problem. Even after I double-checked to make sure I was in the right car and not misreading my ticket. I should have had my money refunded for that...

@nprofile…y789 I think there's a tendency even of those white Europeans who do to normalize it. The speed with which that French business dude took the seat of the Black woman who was taken off the train for questioning (and later restored to the train) was breaktaking to me. He did not automatically restore her seat. Only after I spoke up about it. The others around just shrugged.

@nprofile…y789 I ran into some women from Belgium on the ferry. They were shocked to hear I'd experienced a train stopped for border control within Schengen 3 times in not that many different cross-border routes...
