that's a really good question! I had a colleague who had to call an ambulance to a nature reserve and said he had a right nightmare because the handler didn't understand OS. I think he had to look up the postcode himself, or the handler figured it out from placenames.
The 1st aid trainer, who is mountain rescue, said it's doubly annoying because they all use the same mapping system... Licenced from OS!

At my Outdoor First Aid training, the trainer spent time showing everyone how to get What3Words app to display 8-figure OS Grid Refs. I really wish the OS app was just slightly better at showing your location.
Everyone on the course loves W3W. The trainer did go through in detail why OS was better than W3W for mountain rescue, which was great, and he expressed frustration that the ambulance service will only accept postcodes and W3W.
Can't wait for #What3Words to go bust 😬

If you're going into Edinburgh, or to the airport, or to Glasgow.. you'd just take a bus direct from Ferrytoll, not change at Edinburgh Park.

can you only have one social media account? This constant BS vs MS is frustrating; my employer has twitter, facebook, instagram, tiktok, pinterest and a twitch account but cannot fathom having both MS and BS. it makes no sense. MS is clearly different to BS and so you are probably going to get a different audience. It needs not be one or the other. I run accounts on both because I get very different things from them

In a very boring afternoon, I counted by hand about 1,900 seals in some drone imagery. With a possibility of flying a colony that might have 30,000 seals, I thought I should probably look into automatic counting with #QGIS and #Deepness plugin..
WAID is a dataset containing images of Sheep, Cattle, Seal, Camelus, Zebra, or Kiang. It's huge (14,375 images) and I just needed Seals, so I wrote a quick python script to remove images that had no seals from the dataset.

Popped over to the island to help lift a new generator on shore, in the 20 minutes waiting for the boat to bring it, spied 4 Yellow-browed warblers, red-breasted pipit, lesser white-throat, and a siskin as well as the wintering flock of linnet...
later I accidentally put the linnet on ebird as "twite", submitted, realised what I'd done, and corrected it, but as usual it had already been picked up on the bird alert services, oops
