remembering how, nearly a decade ago, i complained on the bird-now-nazi site that someone wasn't tagging dick pics as 18+ and the account wasn't 18+ either. I was told off that it was an adult site for adults and it's not their responsibility to tag their content in any way. It was um-ack-shoe-ally MY fault the re-shared full frontal content showed up on my feed.

Your big asterisk is what I think of when I think of social media.
An eternally scrolling feed that injects algorithmically suggested content while a machine studies my every scroll, pause, and click. A machine that will have me chasing views, comments, followers, and ratios in comparison to others and detriment to my mental health - whether or not it intends this or is trying to drive site sustaining revenue. A machine that requires me to be eternally vigilant lest the spectre of engagement crawl in from the corner of my eye to become the center of my attention as opposed to whatever content i was there to produce or to consume in the first place.
But I digress and I admit my contempt for engagement has me foaming at the mouth, having recently consoled someone disappointed with the amount of engagement their content has driven.
When I think of FurAffinity, I don't think I want "to be fed". I certainly don't want to have someone else's slop trough streamed at me for consumption through sharing.
I see people unironically calling for a return to webrings - a desire for very manual associations. They are exhausted with systems and feeds and algorithms and want things palpable and deliberate. The FA inbox model is dated, but i think it's a kind of dated that people might want right now. at least, long enough to realize that maybe they don't want that.

it's a gallery and archive, first and foremost.
next, it's a living portfolio and point of contact for furry artists.
social engagement is far, far in the distance.
FA isn't really a social media site. I don't think it should try to be social media. Bios, journals, shouts, comments, and notes are all of varying utility. Shouts could disappear and I don't think anything of value would be lost.
FA as a point of contact between artists and commissioners is something I've always thought FA needed to grow into. At one time, decades ago, i could see FA providing commission, auction, support, and escrow services.
but with the way FA's admin went, that future grew dim. i don't know if i could have that kind of youthful optimism again; and i don't know if FA could be "that place"; but i do feel there is an under served need.

These KZ-ZS10 PROs have these weird little squishy rubber mushrooms, and the cord is molded to rest over the top of the ear. no hard plastic on skin and no popping out to flop on whatever or get lost and tangled in your clothes.

I'd like to believe Sciggles is learning in a trial by fire, because I'd like to believe people can change. The "fling a bunch of mitigating excuses" in the middle of an apology is very typical of people in general. It IS gross, and I've come to expect that nearly nobody can offer a decent apology with action anymore. Not even close friends.
Luffy's resignation can be spun many ways. It would be nice to know the exact circumstances, but Luffy being out is still a "W" regardless.
