Well yes, Linux distros usually include the Gtk/Qt integration too, so the old-looking VCL interface should hardly ever come up. That's why there's no need to update it. But yes, there is an argument that when the desktop integration package is missing, LibreOffice should alert the user (while showing the old-looking VCL interface).

Yes, the documentation needs improving. As mentioned, it's made by volunteers (like so many things in the LibreOffice project) and without knowing who told you it is "perfect" it's hard to fix the situation. Of course it is! It's a great solution for businesses and large organisations, and we strongly recommend it for anyone who needs long-term support and custom features. Hi! No, .xlsx isn't part of the Open Document Format, and there is no such thing as the Open Document Foundation. (There is The Document Foundation, the non-profit behind LibreOffice). Microsoft Office/365 does support ODF though – if only they used it by default. Hope that clears it up!

It's our new stable branch (in that it won't change, with random new features in 26.2.1, 26.2.2 etc.) It will only receive bug and security fixes. We never made a LibreOffice version 9.x, but of course, use what works for you! 😊 Just bear in mind that older versions are unsupported and missing security fixes...

Hi, can you link to the specific discussion? (There are various places to get help for LibreOffice.) Please remember that helpers on forums are volunteers, doing all they can to answer a huge amount of questions. Sorry if you didn't get the answer you wanted, but also bear in mind that they are not developers, so they can't implement feature requests. You can submit a request at https://bugs.documentfoundation.org but the more help the community gets to implement features, the better! Thanks 😊

On macOS, you need to go to LibreOffice > Preferences in the menu, but yes, then the options are the same. Anne, try one of the other icon themes and see if that helps!
