As much as the users of these systems scream that it's "just a tool" or a "purely technical decision" they know it's not. It never has been
Whatever argument you make is fighting against not logic but instead against character preservation. No matter how much you measure your words and try to deescalate to actual factual technical reasons... This is always, sill, a moral indictment. You're always "calling them out"

it screams against the insecurity of sloplickers that a lot of them take great offence at others' refusal to engage. They know about a myriad of ways in which these things are, uuuummm, extremely bad, actually. An important function of the narrative of inevitability is that it removes agency from themselves: it's an overwhelming force that happens to them, it's silly to even imagine not engaging.
But when you do, the illusion breaks and they take that as a personal, moral attack

It's pretty bewildering to watch the UK just take off the mask and stop pretending that the judicial system actually has anything to do with "rules and laws" outside of using those to justify the exercise of the will of power to punish disobedience

But because Thunderbird seemingly refuses to become shit and piss everyone off for no reason, Mozilla has to try and taint them indirectly SOMEHOW
So they release a "brand new torment nexus at home" product which is ALL slop, no other functions
And they call this thing Thunderbolt...
This hurts my brain so bad I can see some point in the "we live in a simulation crowd" because only the stupidest writer imaginable could pull something this ridiculous

Like, following on the seemingly overwhelming hatred they cultivated for Firefox from... basically all of the Firefox userbase by repeatedly doubling and tripling down on slopifying it over extremely vocal backlash of all sorts, Mozilla looked at Firefox's quiet sibling, Thunderbird
Thunderbird's just been sitting in its corner, chugging along in its old rhythm being generally pretty great and, as far as I can tell, cultivating a loyal and satisfied user base for years

There is no incentive for memory manufacturers to do anything other than enthusiastically participate.
Their mandate is to make as much money as possible, as nothing else. AI nonsense pre-bought their entire stock and that is not only desirable, it's a massive win.
The system is functioning as intended. That we're set aside and left out is not an anomaly
