Hi Fedi!
Got a question. I found this t-shirt and I dig the design, but would feel a bit better getting confirmation of what the big text actually translates to. Google Translate is not recognising it, so I'm wondering if any of you fine folk might be able to help!

Tomorrow I go in to have my first appointment with 'the treatment people' and hopefully learn a lot of the things I've been wondering(catastrophising?) about regarding my treatment pathway, what'll be happening to me and when and how and what side effects it'll have, etc.
It is very much 'find out' day.

Gorgeous new artwork by @npub1mam…9uyh with @npub1ul7…lzcn - in which it's a hopeful and more gentle solarpunk future. We're happily working together to get some old solar panels up and running, and in the background a long-abandoned data centre has been partially reclaimed by nature, partially absorbed into our small, sustainable community.
I love how this turned out so much. I love the colours and light, I love our nonbinary clothing that says in this world we can express ourselves however we want, I love how we're doing important work and actually finding joy and meaning in it in it, I love the sense that there's a thriving community working the landscape behind us making a world I'd actually want to live in, and I love that the data centre is in ruins as a symbolic, gentle but resolute middle finger to data centres and AI and all the damage they're doing to us and our world today. And most of all I love the way this piece is an expression of hope in a time where, moment of vulnerability, I'm feeling really, really damn short of it lately.
I'm so grateful to Obscura for proposing we go together on another art piece, and to Raf for realising this absolute beauty.

Okay really ready for hospital nightmares to fk off now
But like they aren't even medical trauma things it's just like.. administrative and care-related nightmares. Like a doctor says "okay get dressed and go see Dr (immediately forgotten because my brain isn't in good shape) down the hall thataway (gestures vaguely) and tell them I sent you (I have no idea what your name is)"
and the place is a hospital so of course it's a total labyrinth and there's no such thing as 'just down the hall' and I end up hopelessly lost immediately and have no idea where I am or where I'm supposed to be going or who to ask for and I need a bathroom too
And nothing like this happened while I was in the hospital recently of course but yes I get that it's a big oppressive metaphor for how incredibly helpless and out of control I feel in most aspects of my life. Ranging from big existential (hi I have a brain tumour) to the small and mundane and probably solvable (I live here but I don't know where we're hiding the trash bags this week so can't even empty my bedroom bin without supervision). Also my unconscious body telling me it needs to pee.

Okay so.
I have had some medical developments over the past several weeks, and now that I know more about the shape of them all I felt it was time to make an announcement to bring everyone up to speed.
I’ve had epilepsy for the last eight years, following an incident that was diagnosed at the time as a stroke. After recent re-imaging of my brain and analysis by a new team of neuroscientists in Oxford, It’s been determined that I have a brain tumour and that it’s what’s been causing the epilepsy all along rather than a stroke. It’s been quietly ticking away all this time, but on the plus side, growing only very slowly and my symptoms (regular mild seizures) have remained very stable over all this time.
I recently spent a few days in the hospital having surgery to conduct a biopsy in order to gather the best information possible on the tumour. The procedure all went to plan and I was discharged after a few days, but checked back in to my local hospital’s emergency department after a couple more due to an uptick in seizures owing to the surgery’s disturbance. They kept me for a couple days while they made some adjustments to my medications to help me through the recovery from the surgery, and that sorted things out just fine.
Today I’ve just met with the specialist team in Oxford about the biopsy results and had the little blue patch covering the surgical wound removed (see attached drawing). Their analysis has determined that my tumour is an 'oligodendroglioma' in type (which is less common but easier to directly target with modern treatment, which is good) and grade 2 (which is the slowest growing of the options, which is also good). In a couple weeks there will be additional results from genetic biomarker testing that will guide my treatment pathway going forward, and I'll be referred to oncology which will take over my care and treatment. The expectation is that this will involve a mix of radiotherapy and chemotherapy, as the tumour is in too delicate an area of my brain for surgical removal to be an option, but the prognosis is good. Essentially, this will be treated more like an ongoing chronic condition than like a cancer in the traditional sense, and an 'expected lifespan' prognosis isn't appropriate or relevant. My health is good and treatment will mainly focus on reducing the tumour's growth which is already quite slow, and managing my seizures. For this type of tumour it sounds like the chemo approaches are quite refined and targeted, and always improving with new research.
I fully appreciate that all of this must sound rather scary and big. And it is, in its way. But with the biopsy results today, the news has been pretty much the best case scenario possible. I am about as pleased and relieved as it's possible to be with the news, so I hope that you can join me in taking heart from this despite the frightening elements of it all, my dear friends. :)

This is the power pose I ended my routine on at Scotiacon 2026's dance competition and I am SO HAPPY I finally found someone who captured a photo of it! My goodness that sure was an amazing and victorious moment for me, the music finishing, hearing the applause, and knowing I'd done it. Eee!

Did I mention I'd been in a dance competition? Yeah? Hehe, sorry. It was just such a proud moment for me and such an amazing experience. Also it got me some -amazing- photos of the new suit that I've just gotta share!
...plus I'm finding that I just really love the 'grizzled and kindly cowboy' vibe I felt like I was rocking with that hat. :) I'm delighted to do some rootin' and tootin', but when that's done I'm all about some gentle cosy hugs.
