Finding it depressing to watch sports at bars lately. Too many guys are super creepy. One of MANY recent incidents (btw none of guys were Spanish, I don’t think): today a guy faked being on a video call but was recording me. 😵‍💫
I stood at door last minutes of game so I could run out at whistle to avoid him following me.

I very much don’t want to return to U.S., which probably if you are on Mastodon, you understand why 😂😂 plus it took me 6 years to pay off medical debt there when I had a severe medical issue.
The job market there is also really brutal - a typical interview process for a job my type of work is 2-3 months, but would prob take 6+ months to find a job. With my medical history, would spend $1K a month health insurance plus deductible. Would need $15-20K to get into an apt in NYC … & wouldn’t qualify!

Timeframe so far: 1.5 months to get legal support (obv not Spain’s fault in any way): no response or extremely poor legal advice led to this delay, 7 weeks to complete pre-process for Enisa application due to all sequential administrative steps required, 3 months awaiting Enisa response.

I do not subscribe to the theory that you can not have feedback or critiques of a place because you choose to live there. Every place has things it can do better or worse!
I love 🇪🇸, I hope I can stay, and I hope I can start earning money again soon. I would be paying way more taxes if I could have started commercializing business while going thru process.

I wish for people already here on a legal visa, changing to a different visa worked like the highly qualified professionals visa, where you could start in meantime while awaiting a response. I wouldn’t have changed if I didn’t have to, but I was laid off, and since fewer than 5% of jobs meet requirements for highly qualified professionals visa (what I have), I couldn’t find a new job that met visa requirements.

Some good news, a step closer to being able to launch Gata Sports Tours, which I’ve been working towards for 6 1/2 months.
No answer from Enisa (agency working with startups, which must say my business idea is innovative & viable for me to apply for entrepreneur visa) in 3 month time limit, which is a yes due to administrative silence.
So now I can apply for entrepreneur visa, waiting for gestor from Entre Trámites (agency supporting me on Enisa & visa app) for next steps.

I feel really down and defeated over the Supreme Court essentially striking down the Voting Rights Act, which is a deep blow to what remains of democracy. They continue to show they will approve racist laws & actions when it suits them, & not when it doesn’t. A democracy, this isn’t.

Well, I went to check out the official España World Cup gear by Adidas, & the white away is unwearable as a woman bc it’s semi-transparent. I’d have to wear a shirt under it, and I’d be pouring sweat if I did that. Also, the dress wears like a nightgown so that was a no. 🤦🏼‍♀️
Red home jersey it is.
Poor planning, though. I imagine no women were involved in design, but did none try it on?
I was going to include custom shirts for people doing sports tours as part of packages.

Michael Broughton wrote a good piece on how sports leagues/brands/teams consider 18-40yo men the holy grail. Meanwhile, they practically ignore women (STILL!), yet women control or influence 85% of consumer spending, & are nearly 1/2 of fans of most U.S. leagues.
