@nprofile…t7sp Yeah, just grousing, apologies for making a bigger deal of it than it is. I should have expected it with the desktop env change, but it sill would have been nice for Cosmic to have at least attempted to pull in Gnome settings on the OS update, or at least allow us to continue to have the option of Gnome. I understand the burden that that adds to support, though, and I'm seeing your comments on GH and elsewhere about why that's unfeasible from a development perspective as well.
It's annoying to have to re-learn muscle memory, that's all. The tapping of the mouse against the top left of the screen to open workspaces is a huge one for me. I don't envy you UI devs who get this level of complaining every time you push and update that changes a user's muscle memory.
I will say, it looked like the Cosmic Shop didn't have its repos updated on first boot, so no packages initially showed up at all. I manually ran an apt update and saw the Signal Flatpak as you noted, but by that point, I had already installed Signal's repo. I have also experienced issues with Spotify's Flatpak breaking as well on 22.04.

Thanks @nprofile…5vu5 for resetting every single UI setting and configuration with the 24.02 update. Definitely the way I want to spend my morning, setting my computer back to the way I had it.

Tap the top left of your screen to get workspaces? Bye bye, you now have to click a button that's in almost the exact same spot.
Signal desktop app? Not in the Cosmic Store!
Definitely don't upgrade. This release isn't ready, and if this is what System76 wants, you're better on stock Ubuntu.

My employer is continuing to pursue increased sales to the US government, so for ethical reasons I'm fully on the job market now.
I am an experienced #devOps engineer, having worked exclusively with #AWS. I have extensive experience in #terraform and #openTofu with significant #Ansible work as well. I've used the full alphabet soup of AWS services: VPC, EC2, S3, ACM, KMS, IAM, RDS, Route53, SNS, SES, SQS, WAF, and many more. I also am familiar with the various monitoring, alerting, and on-call platforms, most notably CloudWatch, DataDog, and Pager Duty. I also have management and project management experience, leading teams and projects at the application and architectural levels.
I do not, unfortunately, have experience with K8s or EKS, so any potential position would need to accept a ramp-up time if those are part of the infrastructure ecosystem. I am a fast learner, and I have a solid engineering expertise to build off of.
My primary need is a fully #remote position for family reasons. As my profile states, I am based in the Twin Cities area in US Central time. I am fully authorized to work in the US without employer support.
