They've already nibbled the edges and endangered it repeatedly, so they don't seem to value it too highly.
To leave the ECHR mandates leaving the CoE, and in turn undoes things like the Good Friday Agreement and numerous other consequences.
If our rulers are apparently okay with blowing up our remaining ties to the European Project just to be a little more nasty to ‘migrants’, why should we presume they have any qualms about GDPR?

May was loosely ‘okay’ though, beyond the Brexit mess she was thrown into. Far preferable to Boris certainly.

when exactly in the last decade+ was Farage no-platformed by anything meaningful?
Media has been obsessed with him the whole time.
A large part of that being spent decrying random student groups or the like for not wanting to listen to him.
Menawhile the Greens have been somewhat systematically excluded, which has meant despite having far more elected representatives than Farage ever has they are still seen as ‘unviable’ ‘fringe’ by many.

the announcement is due tomorrow sometime. In a sense it's less significant than in other parties I believe, since policy is set collectively rather than dictated, but yes it's come down to a duo of centrist transphobe MPs vs a lone leftist with weird baggage.
My hope is of course that GPEW members picked the latter.
If Carla Denyer was in the running they might've even got me to join, but alas not.
The deputy race maybe looks more interesting. We'll see.

Corbyn himself throws the occasional positive comment certainly, but the party never quite does, and the Secretary of Your Party UK Limited sure does keep tweeting…
I'm not looking for ‘purity’ or anything here, but when they've got these sentiments flying around from the start, I don't have a great amount of faith in the project as a whole.
Assuming tomorrow goes well I'm yet to see what advantage they have over GPEW.

but also we'd have far bigger problems, because if the flipper zero was even half able to live up to the hype we'd have people pulling shenanigans everywhere — it's really not that complex a device after all, it's main advantage is that it's premade in a nice case.
You wouldn't need to be too determined to make your own variant with just what you need, or even something ‘suped up’…

not sure I'd go as far as ‘great idea’, it's certainly a nice idea, I get why it has appeal, but it falls apart in so many different ways once you look at it too much, even discounting its ‘Nazi bars are fun places to hang out’ maintainer.
Once you start addressing those issues — integrating with the system, updates, and so on — you find yourself needing a pre-installed daemon or two and you've basically invented flatpak.
Which isn't to say flatpak is perfect by any means.

a closed platform is a closed platform, not a monopoly.
It could become a monopoly, if that platform became dominant, but Nintendo isn't quite a third of the console market it shares with two other major players.
An open platform, like Steam, can also be a monopoly, if it controls enough of the market, like Steam.
