Google Deep Research and Google NotebookLM are the Gemini powered tools that are most close to what Google is about and where it's strengths lie, no wonder those two tools are that good. It will be interesting to see if competitors will come close because they don't have the advantages google has with search, data etc.

Of het nu om bezuinigen gaat of het terugdraaien ervan, dit kabinet lijkt weinig professioneel. Realisatie en dekking zijn voortdurend onzeker en gaan het komend jaar tot veel gedoe leiden. De VVD lijkt "goede overheidsfinanciën" te beperken tot voldoen aan de EU-norm.

The key question with regard to Gemini 2.0 is how and when Google will be able to deliver this in apps and actual functionality that we can use. I can imagine that must be an enormous challenge, if only for their enormous scale and millions of users. All those AI applications need energy and physical (!) hardware.

Take art for example, remixing different styles and earlier work of art has always been allowed (before AI arrived), is that now suddenly forbidden because a machine is involved?

Het beeld dat rechtse partijen schetsen dat statushouders voorrang hebben op sociale huurwoningen klopt gewoon niet, ik neem dat ook waar in mijn eigen gemeente. Prioriteit voor een woning kan van diverse factoren afhankelijk zijn, het statushouders zijn is maar 1 van de aspecten.

The events in Syria also illustrate the importance of moral ,there was almost no fighting or resistance from Assad's forces ,totally demoralized, amazing if you think about their numbers , weapons etc.

So my amateur analysis, Hezbollah, Iran and Russia are severely weakened and can not support Assad. Anti-assad forces with the support of Turkiye, grab their chance. Syria is a large country, the capture of Aleppo is only the beginning of this fight however. No headlines in mainstream media, they probably don't understand the significance.

Bij Bluesky is de ontwikkeling voorspelbaar nu, grote groei, toename in kosten , problemen met opschalen van moderatie, daarna introductie verdienmodel want investeerders willen geld zien. Wat dat precies wordt bepaalt hoe het afloopt.

We can be sure of one thing. The weeks and months after election day in the USA will be messy and confusing. Probably a lot of lawsuits, protests, recounts, maybe even violence. The only thing that can prevent that is a clear win by one of the candidates which isn't likely. With a narrow margin any party can sow doubt about the outcome. Trump will have learned from the last election and probably has a playbook ready with various actions.

Halvering eigen risico leidt vooral tot hogere zorgpremies. Door het eigen risico te halveren, lijkt de PVV de kiezer tegemoet te komen. Maar de rekening komt vooral bij burgers terecht, die een hogere zorgpremie moeten gaan betalen. „Mensen raken teleurgesteld als ze straks de hogere zorgpremie zien.

LinkedIn uses it's data for training AI models, nothing new, but the update of their privacy policy reminded me about that. It must offer amazing and scary possibilities if you think about the fact that the complete social graph of people and businesses is in LinkedIn data. Also we have no way to independently check/audit that data for EU citizens is excluded (or am I missing something).

Er is geen asielcrisis, wel een wooncrisis, die snapt en ziet iedereen in zijn directe omgeving , laten we daar naar spoed of noodwetgeving kijken, maar nee het kabinet kijk vrijwel alleen naar het in vergelijking piepkleine asiel vraagstuk. Volgens mij is de beste strategie ook richting de PVV de echte problemen van dit land benoemen en duidelijk laten zien dat ze daar geen oplossingen voor hebben en geen actie op ondernemen.
