Three successes today in the garden.
* My raspberry plants have started to produce and they are delicious.
* My lead plant, a native pollinator species (Amorpha canescens) has some color finally.
* Late but I'll take it, a cantaloupe seed did survive the squirrel digging and has started to fruit.

Checking in on the garden this morning, anyone hazard a guess as to what was laid on my butternut squash leaves? Not wombat droppings but at these eggs, excrement? The squash itself looks good and says it's definite not a "pumpkin" https://beige.party/@billinkc/116919397014333113
I managed to get 1 leek in with my onions and shallots and it's gone to seed, but pretty.
Finally, "oh great, what is wrong with *this* tomato?" Nevermind, it's finally ripening (Purple Rain variety)

There's a bit of a plot twist. My "butternut squash" plant decided it was more of a pumpkin so I will respect its decision.

*gasp* I finally have a butternut squash. And a single scarlet runner bean. These sungold cherry tomatoes do not turn red but they've been delicious.
And the bell peppers, red knight and Eros, could stand to get some color because I don't like them green

Progress in the garden. The sweet tomatoes are too cute.
One tomato plant has leaf curling but I can't tell if it's just my inconsistent watering or whiteflies virus thing. Any more experienced eyes have thoughts on whether to try and salvage vs chuck in the compost?

The garden is making me happy. I guess the secret for next year is to keep putting seeds in the ground until something comes up.
Onions and leeks were from the coop so I can't take much credit for them but that cucumber is growing inches a day it seems.
The circular planter has a radish I'm probably good to harvest but the last one I grabbed was the size of my first pinky joint. Rosemary continues to shine.
I broke a bit of the Jupiter's beard and figured I'd see if it it'll take. So far so good.
Carrots and cilantro are staying strong and I managed to outwit the squirrels with butternut squash seeds and don't remember what else but there are intentional green shoots and I am pleased

Well my friend, 13 years with you was a magnificent run.
Bolt was a wonderful dog and lived up to the breed, vizsla, trait of being a Velcro dog. You never know what life a rescue dog had before but he loved being nestled up with someone. Never met a dog that liked affection like this one did. In October, we were worried he had torn an ACL but instead it was osteosarcoma. And nothing could be done but provide comfort.
Thank you universe for the graceful decline. We got family photos done and got to wind down with as many "lasts" as we could.

The hatchery had info that for chicks sent in the mail, the brooder wouldn't be warm enough and I decided I didn't want to risk it for my first go and went with a lizard aquarium light and ceramic bulb. Which I suppose you're also welcome to
