Didn't detect any meshcore nodes in LA despite having my node on all day and driving all over plus hiking San Gabriel. Hmmm something must not be configured right. #Meshcore

With a frost warning forecast for Monday. We're harvesting everything (mostly) left in the garden. I have to figure out a way to protect the cantaloupes. They need more time... #gardening

2025-10-01 05:09:26 UTC

One of these things is not like the other 😜
This time last year we got an early frost and we were out in headlamps at 10pm picking all our tomatoes. This year it seems we can get some harvesting done in the daylight. Pulling for another week to let things ripen. #gardening

Anyone have info on the best way to harvest Summer Squash FOR SEEDS? All the info I can find online is for eating.
We're letting this one keep growing for seed. It's about 18in long.

I think it is time to finally replace the absolutely ancient Cuisinart that my mom gave to me. I have to delicately use a butter knife to push the safety switch so it'll turn on. Plus the plastic is very very old. #cooking #kitchen

my only recommendation is to look at lots of fabrics to find what you're looking for. I'll keep an eye out for suppliers that have something like that. They are probably looking for orders that are a little larger than a typical home project.

Today and tomorrow I'll be at the Functional Fabric Fair in PDX. Hit me with apparel/fabric questions and I'll do my best to answer them. My company's lead scientist is in town and I love picking his brain about materials.

I think one of our mistakes this year was putting up netting to keep deers out of our hoop garden. It probably discouraged birds from coming in to eat pests too.
