It’s unusable for Joe Public, software that changes so much so often for no good reason is just bad.
I ran it for a few years, and found that even with my relatively simple setup, it would need a few hours a month of faffing to get it working again after an update.
End up, I gave up on it and migrated to Homey Self Hosted Server. It just works. It did everything I used HA for. It doesn’t blow up monthly. Wife has forgotten it exists, because stuff just does what it should.
I run Homey SHS on a Mac Mini M2, with a Homey Bridge doing the Zigbee and Z-Wave.

I run my house off a Victron Multiplus II and 3x Pylontech 5kW batteries.
Solar charges them during the day, if there’s no solar then they charge off night rate grid.
Victron might be a bit too European for decent availability in the US though. Everything except the really high current stuff runs off its “UPS” supply, so we never notice power failures in the grid, except for the notifications on our phones.
I have a Victron EV charger too, which ties in with everything else, so it’s able to charge the car before exporting the excess solar.

Or just buy rechargeable CR2032s? You can get a pack of 10 cells and a charger off Amazon/Temu/AliExpress for the same price as a few big brand CR2032 cells.

I'm with Adam, if HA worked properly for simple stuff like turning lights on and off or reliably monitoring energy use, then AI stuff would be fine. But, it doesn't. It so doesn't I gave up on it and have found Smartthings to be much more robust and does pretty much everything I need including complex automations.

I think you probably need a fresh start, you probably have years of cruft in the background. I was like that, upgrading and transferring macOS from one machine to the next (starting with a Core2Duo MacBook Pro).
Finally started fresh on my M2 Mini, and again on the M4 Mini.
My M1 Air is still on the crufty install, and it's diabolical.

Gone the same way too, down from two NAS with far too many drives, a Proxmox box, a mini PC running Home Assistant, to a single Refurb Dell Precision i3-13100 with 64GB running Proxmox with TrueNAS on top. All the other services run in LXCs on the same box.
My media data is now on two 18TB drives. Nothing there is important, so no particular backups needed (the important stuff is encrypted and synced across three different clouds, Google Drive, OneDrive and iCloud).
Down from ~350W to less than 40W.

First thing comes to mind is one of the small Gl.inet pocket routers, turn off the WiFi and they run sub-1W.
Second thing would be an ODroid SBC. I haven't looked at them for a while so no specific recommendations.
Third would be a TPLink pocket router and flash it with ddwrt or similar. I did that years back, there's enough flash on there to get a minimal install to run DNS.

That's like a £500+ board in the UK. 😭
I'm still rocking a 5800X on an old Asus Crosshair, but the board is getting very flaky (first CPU in it was a 2700X).
But Black Friday has me a 14700KF, 48GB of DDR5 and new Gigabyte board on their way.
