@npub1psd…9sr7 Which brings back memories of entering the Guinness Storehouse for George R. R. Martin's post-Hugos party and being immediately handed a pint, which was likely to be the best pint of Guinness I'd ever taste. And while everyone else was oohing and ahhing and wondering how they could get a second, all I could think was ... how do I dispose of this discretely without insulting my hosts? So boozy dives are definitely not for me. I'm the rare foodie who doesn't do alcohol.

@npub1psd…9sr7 As fascinated as I am about boozy dive subculture from a sociological standpoint, and so I have a good picture if I ever needed to depict one in my fiction, it’s not where you’re likely to find me, unless I’m tagging along with friends who’ve chosen one as a destination, where I'd be the one sipping an orange juice. Because I don’t drink alcohol of any kind. Not for moral reasons — I’ve simply always found the taste foul and recoil from even a single sip. So I’m just not a pub guy.
