Omg!! East Bay Booksellers burnt down today!!
I *knew* I smelled something on fire when i got ready this morning! I just thought it was the smell of a wildfire somewhere.
It's, like, gutted. Down to the bricks. Nothing standing but a shell. It's amazing that nothing else burned down next to it.
Oh man. That was my bookstore.

What kills me about SF: my inability to layer correctly.
It's effing freezing and I don't have a jacket. If I wore one of my Chicago layers, it would be too hot. So I need a thin layer -- but still warm. Which reduces me to a blazer with everything or a cardigan. Which makes me look like a PTA mom. No wonder everyone looks like they're dressed for a nap.

I'm really curious how many white folks in the fediverse have *any* close BIPOC friends.
Like, work pals don't count.
These are folks who have let you see the inside of their homes, you know whether or not you have been invited to their cookout, and you know how to reach a member of their family in an emergency.
(All my Besties know how to reach my sister or dad and/or have met them.)
Like, are you a Mark or a...Karen?
