I can't point to any hard facts, so take this all with a heavy grain of salt. But I've heard an increase of more marginal kinks getting the boot, (and not in a kinky way,) and complying with laws before they're laws. (I stopped trying to use them when they asked for age verification. Might have been like elsewhere where it's just, "put an age in your bio, but I haven't bothered to check.)
I've heard similar about Gumroad.
For OF, I don't *think* it's strictly payment processors pushing them, as their whole thing has been higher risk from day one, but who knows.

Hey all, Windows 11 question.
Is there a good weather widget that is free, minimally invasive, (telemetry, etc.) preferably FOSS, and can show multiple cities as a bonus?
I'm having to use Win11 for work, so I might as well make the most of it. Also the requirement of "free." I'm not spending money on my work PC. I have the local weather with the installed by default MSN weather, but I like to see how it is where my friends live too.

Check out your local library! At mine if they were B&W that would be under a dollar if each page took a whole page. $2 if color. Their printers can probably handle 5x8 fine, though you may have to ask the librarian how to fight it to get it to work. We deal with them way too much. :blobcatchewwire:
Or, depending on how big/well funded the system is, they might have a maker center. A lot of them have more flexible printers and can do larger sets.
And people existing in the library alone is helpful for us politically. :ablobcatheart:

Anyone know of a reliable, cheap cell phone carrier in the US? I have an ancient AT&T prepaid plan that doesn't have data, (it used to be Cingular,) and my money is finally running out. So I'm in the market for something new. I'd like unlimited talk and text, (texts are what burned $500 of prepaid minutes out in 16 months,) and some data. I'd prefer less than $10USD/month.
I used US Mobile abroad and enjoyed them. They have a limited plan at $8/month if you pay for a year. Are they good in this country?
Can you recommend any others to look at?

Has anyone else in Public Libraries noticed a signficant townturn in Summer Reading participation?
Now, I am in Adult and our Children's department is for the first time in ages, (though that's changing in a few weeks,) fully staffed, but I have had *no one* ask me about it since it started.
I'm wondering if this is a my branch thing, a "we have shit prizes this year" thing, or a systemic thing.

I've been using Open RSS to obtain the porn engaging articles that aren't on here and that largely suffices. However OpenRSS does it, one can see more images that are usually login walled though the natural RSS thing they have going on.

Question:
I'm hand coding a website using just #HTML (maybe, *maybe* a little CSS at the end, but for now it's just HTML,) and I have a question about tables. Namely, how well do phones handle them? I want this site to be simple, but fit well on the screen. Tables would take care of what I want with a PC screen, but phones are far narrower.
Would I be better off just leaving them in a list?

What I've run into that my library blocks are Tor and most VPN sites. I guess to prevent circumnavigation for other sites, (they also block Honkai Star Rail's servers.)
But *content* wise, I haven't run into issues.

Does anyone know of a way to test which USB port is which, and what speed they are? Or the speed of a USB drive?
Preferably for free, and if it's an app, it is portable or doesn't require registry editing. I'm on a work PC and I want to know if my thumbdrive would be better plugged in elsewhere.

Got *The Return of the Obra Dinn* on sale and it is a good ghost story. Ship disappears, but reappears with all hands lost. You're an investigator (seemingly) sent by the East India Company to figure out what happened. You're doing it with a book to keep track of what happens and how each person died and a stopwatch that lets you travel back to moments of death, (aptly named Momento Mori.)
Not strictly horror, but gives me the creeps all the same. It's good.

Hey all, got some questions.
I see in F-Droid that there are "launchers" for android, and they seem to change the appearance of the dashboard.<li>Does a device have to be rooted to use these?</li><li>Do these replace the original, or can I swap back and forth?</li><li>Does vanilla Android foul up after one uses these? As in, did it move something around/change something and </li><li>Would it void my warranty?</li><li>Can one switch back and forth?</li>
