It's also hard for me to remember an AAA game on PlayStation that was so polished in recent years. It runs super smoothly with no bugs, glitches, clippings, or other technical imperfections you can think of. Wonderful!

The flow of the combat is probably my biggest surprise in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. I'm playing as a rogue on hard difficulty. The screen is full of colors and effects, and I wonder how everything works so well. Well, it communicates perfectly. There's color coding and audio cues, and enemy attacks and weaknesses are always readable. It's an incredibly good combat system, I love it!

Every region in Dragon Age: The Veilguard has its own magnificent vistas. They always make me stop and look off into the distance. I also like the variety, each region feels like a different place, yet the art design is cohesive and makes it feel like they all belong to the same world. It’s a beautiful game.

I started playing Mad Max. I know it got poor reviews, but I also heard some generous things in retrospect. After an hour I can’t say much yet, but it feels great to be out in the world of Mad Max. I’ve just got a new vehicle, which will probably be with me for the rest of the game.

I’m currently watching a truckload of Korean films, but was able to include a Japanese one for Japanuary, Evil Does Not Exist. Director Ryūsuke Hamaguchi is more interested in the moment than the big picture and takes his time with each scene. There is little cutting, and the camera is allowed to have gentle tracking shots and pans, and sometimes it just stays still in one frame. It’s wonderful. I have to see more of Hamaguchi’s films.

Years ago I did a kind of real-time analysis of Predator (1986) on the Birdsite and lost 50 followers or so. I think I want to do something similar again. Btw, Predator is a brilliant movie that can be analyzed a lot, some 1980s action movies are smarter than you think.

I have done it! What a wonderful game, I really enjoyed it. I like the tone and pace, and the little plot is lovely too. I can imagine playing the game again because of the different paths.

After playing the first and half of the second Indiana Jones-LucasArts adventures on a sheet of paper, I made a serious investment in my laptop gaming setup and bought a mousepad. It came in a ridiculously sophisticated package, and it has a green stripe on its side, which means it’s very sporty and faster than other mousepads. It’s the best mousepad I’ve ever had.

#LucasArts has a thing for mazes, don’t they? I made it to Atlantis, and luckily this one is easy to traverse. The real problem is that I don’t know what to do yet, but I’ll find out. The puzzles in this game so far are not so far-fetched that they drive you to despair. A friend also plays #IndianaJonesAndTheFateOfAtlantis and we were confused when we talked about it because her game takes a different path, with different puzzles, plots, and locations. I didn’t think the game would offer such variety, how fantastic is that? I wonder why the sound quality of the voice in #IndianaJonesAndTheFateOfAtlantis is relatively poor; there’s always a noticeable hiss when characters speak. Maybe the compression is just as bad as it was back then? Apart from that, the voice actors do a great job and contribute a lot to the atmosphere. I’ve started #IndianaJonesAndTheFateOfAtlantis and my goodness, it feels like a new generation of game compared to #TheLastCrusade. The whole experience is streamlined, with great pacing and puzzles that are fun to solve. The new iMUSE system also adds to the slick presentation. I’m having a good time with #IndianaJonesAndTheLastCrusade overall, there’s a lot of charm. But I wouldn’t let a modern game get away with the click-everything-try-everything mechanics. I’ve made it through the catacombs of Venice and am now in Castle Brunwald, frustration rising. Sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees. My Mastodon account is all about games, and I didn't think about it. Now I've signed up to #GOG and bought #IndianaJonesAndTheLastCrusade (and others). I've always wanted to play #LucasArts adventures. I got an old laptop and installed #Linux (#LinuxMint) for fun, but I don’t know what to do with it. I haven’t owned a PC/Mac/laptop since 2016. In my household, the smartphone and tablet have completely replaced these devices and have fulfilled all needs for over eight years. I’m clueless what to do with this foldable plastic device.

Hello #Linux Community! Please have mercy on me. I know nothing about computers and nothing about Linux, but am very willing to learn. What would be a beginner friendly option that a 2013 computer can handle? I often read #Ubuntu and #LinuxMint, but will they run on these very old specs: Intel Pentium G3220 3GHz, 4GB RAM, Intel HD graphics onboard.
