The *BEST* was that of a friend that completely cut contact with me, forever, after I told her I was writing a story. Years later I was told she thought I was trying to get her to publish my story in the magazine she was the editor. Such a good friend, wasn't she? =)
Now, I don't tell everyone I write, and most of those worthy enough to know answer with a very incredulous "you?" =)

He'd be amazed by the fact this reality's Tenochtitlán/Ciudad de México doesn't have a lake in the middle, and haven't had one in centuries. At least not one the size of the one in his reality. And he'd try to befriend the Not-My-Cats of the housing complex I live, and would get angered when said felines would make clear that they don't like him, like those at home…>=)

He'd take the "cat's" room because, even being inside it, that room's separated form the rest of the apartment, and it has its own bathroom. But after a few minutes dealing with my father, I'm sure Our Hero would evict us (by throwing us out of the window, followed by all our trash), and would brick up the doors and windows so we couldn't even try to go back. And we wouldn't…=)

—I love reading but I have little time to do it. Or to do anything. This job has the worst scheduling. So I turned to music. I love music. Like that old song says, "I'm never alone cos' I can put on the earphones and let the the drummer tell my heart what to do". Or something like that. I can listen to music while I'm butchering kidnappers or drug dealers. It's better than listening to their pleas and screams…

#WritersCoffeeClub 03 : One piece of well-known writing advice you ignore?
"Write what you know".
I've never been in a giant mac mini-shaped time machine, so I have to invent everything about it.
I know that the concept behind that advice isn't that extreme, but I've met a few professional writers that live by that rule. I say that for the things we don't know there's research and imagination. They say I'm an idiot. They're right about that. And I write what I don't know to learn about it…>=)
