We've just tagged the second release candidate of Ardour 9.0 and announced strings freeze, so that translators can start their work safely.
Please use https://nightly.ardour.org/ to download and test. Since Ardour 9.0 is not yet ready for production use, please do not package it for Linux distributions.
We expect to tag at least one more release candidate.

We've just released v8.12 with two fixes:
1. The fix for region lengths from v8.11 was incorrect, we implemented it differently this time.
2. Translation file packaging on macOS is now correct; localization should work again on that platform.

You can control Ardour over MIDI: roll and stop transport, arm for recording, change gain/pan in tracks and busses, and do other things. Ardour ships with 50+ MIDI maps, mostly for some of the MIDI keyboards by AKAI, M-Audio, Novation, and Arturia. If there is no ready-to-use MIDI map for your particular device yet, you can create your own. Here is how you do that
