The number of places salivating about dynamic pricing is really quite scary. So many supermarkets are thrilled with the idea of it. Every time I'm in ASDA recently they are pushing "why don't you use your phone to shop" while making noises like a mantis clicking.

That will be "the lying" kicking in there then early.
It's probably some very specific definition of dynamic pricing like.. "We don't vary the price because it always goes up, so that isn't varying it's just increasing"

Even if it is illegal they'll just whinge till it's allowed because "everyone else does it and we're at a competitive disadvantage, won't you think of the shareholders"

You would imagine there would some sort of silo-extension that could be specifically written to circumvent this.

"someone's brother has died" is going to be my next collection of scenarios which players will refuse to commit to the bit in.
This is yet another of the early CoC scenarios which seemed to always involve someone's will.

I think the personality of gamers is involved too, even if it was exploited.
D20 killed gaming for me as a purchase habit, I stopped buying RPGs for many many years, and you know me, I'm a compulsive shopper for games, so you can tell how utterly repulsed D20 must have made me.

I've seen that dynamic and it lead to a group split, with the experimentalists on one side and a "we play DnD, and CoC" on the other.
It was quite amicable, but a lot of it was about people's investment of their time in what they perceived as worthwhile. Some people who only gamed once a week didn't want to play a "might be absolutely trash" game with their one session, and I'm not ill disposed to that reasoning in a short life*

Losing freelancing is also reducing economic mobility and flexibility. Once well paid part time/freelance work disappears there's less opportunity to be a work from home parent, and you get into the cycle of child care costs and latchkey children growing up without parents.

The whole design culture is going to be subsumed into "Sure it'll do" aesthetic to save money. Every little flyer will be a canva template. Photolayouts on magazine covers will be increasingly composed by ai design from available stock libraries that have sold out to the monkey. None of it will look as good as before, but "sure it'll do" because you've saved on the price to pay a freelance. And wow you didn't even need to get the materials ready till the night before press.

Someone threw out all their Unsolved Case files games in the rain - because the stupid Red Cross won't take book like things anymore. It was very sad seeing all these boxes of mysteries getting destroyed by Storm Bram. Sitting outside in the street dissolving. I took one soaking box home and to my delight found the game inside sealed in its plastic presentation folder. Immaculate. Kicking myself for not getting the others now though.

This is rendered from the original document and leaves out a lot of the expected elements like the fruit and cheese/dessert wines and then the coffee-cigars-and iceberg.
On reflection it might be more playable if the players ate á la carte (and there was a modest reimbursement for doing that). Also it would be less rude to get up at the Ritz saloon to go fight a Sea Devil than at the First Class which had more organised seating.

Being me of course I was looking at the 1st class menu of the Titanic and acquired a nice little volume on preparing it for a dinner party, so going by the suggested timings for readiness if you were to serve the 13+ course meal as table litter while gaming you only need to start the Consommé Olga three days before your players arrive. Obviously I can make this up as a spreadsheet for the GM.

@npub19lu…scpa and I were discussing odd cthulhu type plots on the Titanic, and I've finally found the Ushabti figures that were carried on the "largely unsinkable" ship from some Belfast joint. As @npub18lm…m79z 's magnificence "The Purloined Handmaiden" is about the use of Ushabti, it would make sense to use the Titanic as a teaser piece for that longer campaign. I think would be rather jolly to literally sink the Titanic in your opener. (1/2)

Now imagine Animal from the muppets going "noumenon" and your day will descend into Kant based muppet singing.
