I really wish I could say this was paranoia. But I can't, because it's not. I think I counted about 20 shoots, so it looks like once again the rodgersia will be dominating this shady corner of the lower yard.
This species has a dull flower and small leaves when grown in full sun, but no flower and massive leaves when grown in partial shade.
Soon the lower yard will belong to Roger once again!

Dealers dump dead plants over walls in the area with a long drop. The coir can be scavenged, its useful for conditioning our heavy clay soil.
When a dealer gets turfed out of a drug house, all their shit gets dumped in a skip in the adjacent alley. That's loads of big square pots, trays and chicken poo tubs going for free.
I sold most of it to a local garden centre.
No real link to potted plants, unless you count the dead cannabis.

Yes and yes. I have a route around the neighbourhood that I take at least once per week, ostensibly for exercise but also to salvage stuff and meet cats. Every now and again I extend that route to the rest of the town.
People leave all sorts of crap in the back alleys here. I once made around £300 from a drug dealer dump of plant pots. But mostly its thrown out half dead pants in pots. My entire yard, the back alley and allotment is populated like this.

The yarden is finally tidied for the spring. All the spreaders and climbers have been moved out to the allotment and all the more discrete plants have been moved on to bigger, nicer pots from my scavenged collection, leaving all the old pots free to be given away.
I've moved a few more interesting plants in too and have a few spaces for whatever I find this Spring (there are always a few alleyway finds around Easter).

1. How many Reform voters erroneously support them as a potential genuine political alternative compared to supporters who just hate immigrants.

I think Labour is now as finished as the Tories are. That leaves the previously marginal parties, Reform and the Greens.
Which means principles verses money and hate.
Tories are decamping to Reform, Labour currently refuse to defect to greens.*
Truly, this is the test of our times.

If the Reformers wanted to be purists, then really they should push for the 'remigration' of those supposedly descended from the Angles, Saxons, Jutes, Franks and Frisians as well as the Scandinavians and Normans back to their homelands in what is now the EU, leaving Britain for the Welsh, the Manx, the Cornish and the Brigantians.

Six month compost turn done for the spring! Stage 3 has gone to fill up two composter bins, stage 2 has turned into stage 3, stage 1 has turned into stage 2 and stage zero, the sorting bay, has filled up stage 1 leaving half of it behind, which has been turned in situ.
And the beds are already mixed with fresh compost ready to sow into.

I've known my pal Hendrix for around five years now. His behaviour has changed over the years. He used to leap off his bin as soon as he saw me, but now he sits and waits until I click my tongue in greeting.
He has come to understand that occasionally I may be busy; I'll always stop to say hi, but he trusts that I'll show willing to socialise first.
I think this is quite amazing thoughtfulness from my friend, who appears to have studied my behaviour as much as I've studied his.

Two ash trees cut down in the neighbourhood, so I've spent several weeks lugging wastebin loads of woodchip up the hill on the sack truck. 30 loads and done, enough to re-cover the entire area and have loads in storage. This is how I manage without heating the house in winter (well, barely). I eat crap and convert all those calories to energy including generating heat even though I'm out in the cold. The fresh surface ready for the spring is a bonus.

The allotment is put to bed for the winter. The council dumped all the bush shreddings again, so the composter is turned and full up. The sorting bay in the corner is also full to overflowing with the shredded bushes. All the tubs are full of feed and mulch, all rotting down over the winter. The allotment is quiet. I think even Brin cat may be staying inside in the dry and warm.

I started working with 7 in my job back in the nineties. I bought 8 for my freelance work. I have the original bought and paid for CS1 somewhere but used CS2 for many years for work. I've also used CS5 and CC.
Though I'm aware my versions are ancient, its not new tools that make good design, the old software that's been bought and paid for still works well.

I’ve been trying free design software as potential alternatives to Illustrator, Photoshop & InDesign. I expect many are already familiar with the FOSS options, but I thought I’d share in a thread anyway.
Any opinions are personal & YMMV. For online resources, anything with a barrage of adverts & tracking on UBlock Origin, Ghostery and Privacy Badger I steered away from.
This is very much geared to being options for people coming from an Adobe background.

Unfortunately, in order for any of Farage's lies and misinformation to be debunked, that requires new leadership from Labour and halting the complicity of the media and social media...
...which means those funding the disinformation need to be stopped, and they are extremely powerful with very deep pockets indeed.
Voters hear what they want to hear: simple solutions to complex problems with easy targets to blame. That makes the lies they are fed far preferable to any truth.

It's good to see. I miss Washy the robin from last year, he'd have several 10 minute baths a day in the old pebble filled crock on the steps. I'd always keep the water clean for him.

Some shots of the allotment in its third year at the end of summer.
The garden areas are maturing as I add more rescue plants to them. The main terrace is finally finished, the beds full of good quality soil mixed with compost, coir and leaf mould, settling to be ready to plant next year. The mini terrace beds are already producing a wealth of vegetables.
