2 typical examples for today, if you seen the rant about how Firefox "SHARE FUCKING EVERYTHING", thats very obviously not even close to being true, but reality doesnt stop the angry mob sharing it.
Next up today, "our enterprise company will uninstall firefox if you ship with vpn", "we dont ship vpn to enterprise users", "how do you detect enterprises, thats creepy" ... according to "privacy advocates" if statements are now creepy ...

It's a Firefox Relase Day!
One of the projects I work on is being released, the TrustPanel has replaced the seperate lock + shield panels in the Urlbar. Got rid of one icon in the urlbar and saved space and the result should hopefully be a bit easier and more pleasant to use.

I tried to use existing apps, almost all of them were moving to be AI based and mostly stuck at being template generators. Still a pretty huge gap between what I see people talk about is possible with AI and what the reality is.

Not turning into a content creator, but I would like something I can throw 5 to 10 photos at and it will turn them into a video that shows them scrolling left to right.

Even at f22 I can only get the foreground or subject in focus not both, no way around that other than stacking? Really dislike stacking unless its for astro.

Very happy to have a NAS Setup for my media, the icing on the cake would be if I could allocate 50GB or whatever of my local SSD to be a transparent FIFO cache that synced automatically. Things would be fast, work offline etc etc.
I can of course do this manually, but it is soo cumbersome and error prone.

Just dropped my prints off to take part in my first photography exhibition, very excited and appreciative.
It's in Wasp Studios, Glasgow (G1 5QH), from 30th April to 5th of May, 9AM-5PM. There are some really great photographers taking part so worth a visit.
First shot is from Bob Vylan last October, instantly loved them when I seen them at TRNSMT few years back, funnily enough the kids and I spent ages arguing with alexa last night who refused to play them instead of Bob Dylan.

February - Found artificial light
I was just gonna use one of my gig shots for this prompt but didn't seem like that was the spirit. This is where I sit waiting on the kids doing gymnastics and it always felt very cinematic. I think a little portrait session here would be fun if any Glasgow people are up for it.

@nprofile…0jqh not a hiring manager and have not changed jobs in 10+ years so I wouldn't bet the house on my advice.
However I think certifications are mostly useful as a box ticking exercise and not sure anything less than a degree is ticking many boxes.
I think the landscape has changed since I was last job searching but I still feel oss experience is one of the most underrated avenues to employment. You get to work with the best in the industry, on real projects used by lots of people.

So every single personal project I do the biggest hassle is user management. I don't want to write a login system, I dont want to create another account, I dont want to manage an email account to do passwordless logins (although I do prefer these)

Is there a thing that I can plug my usb-c external hard drive + monitor + speakers into that gives them permanent power that I can then plug my laptop into?
Hubs seem to have plenty of usb-c ports but no power, docks seem to have power but like 1 or maybe 2 usb-c ports?

@nprofile…mgpx Yeh even as I get much better at taking photos (full digital) there are still old film photos I took that have that something special.
Film simulations can get pretty close to doing most of the work in camera / setup and less time editing but there is still a bit of magic missing.
It's mostly a cost thing for me, very few good enough to shoot live music on film, always tempts me though

The digital ones dont look straight out the camera, are you using the equivalent film simulations?
I think I am 50/50 but the bokeh seems a lot dreamier in some of the film ones, hard to tell if thats a sensor vs lens thing.

I used to think car culture was a big company lobby thing however coming to the realisation it is a way to mask inequality.
I recently spent time getting around Seattle on public transport. I was physically attacked twice, seen 2/3 people that I couldn't say for sure were alive and hundreds in need of help.
I don't think a lot of people appreciate how bad it is because designing for cars means you avoid walking down the tent lined high street.

I think the difference a few seconds can make to a photo is interesting. These photos were taken very close to each other, I wanted to wait for the person in red to be at the top of the bridge as its better compositionally but by the time they got there the cloud had passed and light went flat.
