I heard a stat today that ~75% of folks in #US don't feel comfortable w/ the course of AI development, incl. in matters related to its safety, regard for privacy & data centers' demand for power & water.*
But I'll tell you – Nothing says "don't worry" like a bunch of tech oligarchs who have *also* been sounding the AI alarm (particularly about its safety) gathered around current US president Trump (who says AI is amazing; his family is invested in AI development). (🙄🍟)

Anyway, it's in Square's privacy policy. They keep your info, even if you're just buying something from a seller & don't have an account. They also share info w/ partners & advertisers.

The company (Square) saves the information like your bank card, email address, physical mailing address... and you often don't even know that the seller is using Square (nevermind consent to it).

Trump targets birthright #citizenship again with new EOs ‼️
His latest attempts to curb #BirthrightCitizenship are bound to be challenged in court as a violation of the #14thAmemdment.
His EOs seek "to narrow birthright citizenship in several circumstances," crackdown on "commercial 'birth tourism,'" and "deny birthright citizenship for children born of some foreign diplomatic staff in the #USA and, potentially, #US territories in the future."

I don't understand how a teen can be FULLY responsible for their OWN self to be tried as an adult in a school shooting trial —
And the teen's parent is ALSO responsible because they should've recognized the "signs" and made sure the kid went to school and got help.
But wait now... wasn't the teen FULLY responsible for their own self — in this case, the teen was sentenced to life in prison.

I hardly think that's fair, honestly, and is ageist. There are plenty of very sharp 80-year-olds.
He may or may not have cognitive decline, but the fact is that trump is a perpetual liar & narcissist who is surrounded by "yes" people. He lies so much that he likely convinces himself that is the reality, and the people around him only enhance his false beliefs, which is very dangerous.

Oh it could be... it was really small and darker than it looks in the pic (when it curled up a bit, it looked like a lighter brown). I went with jumping spider because of its clearly striped legs, and I thought a young orb weaver would be more yellow. We have a bunch of both kinds of spiders here.

This little jumping spider was so cute hanging out on my vehicle's window in the light rain. I tried to get its pic, but my phone really doesn't like taking close-up pics of things, so I had to move the phone pretty close and the little spider curled up, probably afraid of me.

So if there is a 350-foot gash caused by vandals, then a person or multiple people basically had to jump into the reflecting pool and cut it with a knife for 350 feet (~106.7 meters) — or lean over the side and cut that gash — either way, that's a long distance!
Aren't there cameras there?
Wouldn't a camera catch a vandal doing that? 🤔

What is "stench"?
And maybe capital "V" vandalism is the made-up kind 🤔
Also, #Trump is going after The View & ABC/Kimmel (again), threatening to sue & sic his FCC on them.*
Trump is also blaming "vandals" for a supposed "350 feet" long "gash" (that looks like peeling paint; he said they'll prove their case against the vandals in court). Both the algae & peeling paint could be explained by chemistry, but he doesn't know that.

Three questions for you lol (if that's okay :)
1) So you can get refunds directly through the app?
2) If so, do you need to prove anything to them first (like upload pics of the rotten potatoes, for example)?
3) Has there ever been a time when you couldn't get your customer service issue resolved through the app?

#Privacy is a big issue. An ex: I am often required to use different privacy-compromising 3rd-party apps for one-time sign-ups for one-time events (for a program my kid is already in). But NO. I don't have to, and I tell them that (in a nice way ;)
And I'm always *that* parent (sigh).
It would be MUCH easier to just roll with everything, but that's not who I am.

Part of what I had responded was that the media isn't free if it's directed by the US president via one of his buddies (Ellison). And investigative journalism must be free to stay true to its investigations' outcomes, even if the resulting reporting is uncomfortable to those in leadership because a crucial role of investigative journalism is to hold leadership to account.
If investigative journalism isn't free, it's propaganda. Time to move on.

All good, though (🙄). #Rubio says the "1st stage" of a deal would be the reopening of the #StraitOfHormuz.
Then #Iran "needs to enter into serious negotiations on 3 topics: their pledge never to have nuclear weapons, restrictions long-term on their enrichment capabilities & what do you do with the highly enriched #uranium?”

The possible deal doesn't address Iran's missile supply nor stipulate a moratorium on enrichment. "Those issues would be addressed in future negotiations...(Previously), the #USA has sought at least a 20-year commitment."
#MyThoughts
... which is what #Iran had agreed to before #Trump tore up Obama's deal in 2018! And now Trump might close up his war with Iran closer to a nuclear weapon.

And the whole thing is like a smash-and-grab:
1) Smash with a ridiculous lawsuit
2) Grab freedom from IRS audit or prosecution
And the $1.3 billion slush fund (although significant) is a deflection from the real loot, which is number 2 in the previous list.
But Trump, though his Acting AG (his former criminal defense attorney), has effectively preemptively pardoned himself without having to actually pardon himself.
