I had to take my new kitten to the vet for a vaccination, this week. She's pretty skittish, so I was expecting problems. She was actually OK once we got in to see the vet. But, she nearly took my arm off getting her into the box!

I agree that AI should be opt-in. But, then, hardly anyone would use it, because it hasn't been developed to the point where it is actually useful, yet.

Google used to have a reputation as the go-to search engine that could find whatever you needed. Now, it's completely trashing that with this AI slop. Why have a summary that you can't trust at all? It seems like a losing strategy to me. 🤷‍♀️

I did a Google search for previous examples of a very specific type of incident for work. The #AI summary cited an example that was just what I was looking for. But, when I went to check the source, the #AI summary changed, because there was no such incident. The AI had completely made it up to match my search. If I had used that without checking for a corroborating source, I would've looked a right fool. What is the possible use for such as system?🤷‍♀️

I always feel reluctant to bother the author directly. But, $35 per paper gets expensive very quickly if you are doing any sort of serious research.
