We have erased the meaning of lots of words, haven't we? I've been playing Aria Chronicles lately and when looking for info about the game I always find it described as a "Darkest Dungeon clone".
The game is of the same genre, yes, but it is not a clone of DD in any shape or form. There are so many differences between those two, so much uniqueness to both of them. How being on the same genre suddenly became being a clone?

Now that I am seriously planning to move away from Windows I am starting a checklist on what is absolutely essential for me to work on Linux. Would anyone have a good recommendation to a good replacement for - sigh - Animate CC?
It need to be as close as possible - animation tool with a vectorial approach but that can also import bitmaps and work with those as well. Oh yeah, it also definitely need to be able to export videos and stills.

A little rant here:
This is the third bundle on itch that I am a part of that isn't a go because people seems to be unable to check their emails/DM and click the accept button.
It is beyond me why people ask to participate if they can't be bothered to check the progress of the bundle. I mean, it ain't asking for much, just check every now and then instead of holding the whole deal back, there is people depending on you - that is especially true for charity bundles.

It truly infuriates me how people often treat gamedev the same as playing a game. Dude, it is SERIOUS WORK.
It requires training, it requires experience, it requires money, it requires planning.
FFS, this is not a fucking shonen anime where you are the main character. This childish - no offense to children, they are fucking amazing - behaviour is not only tiresome as it is hurtful to people that actually take this shit seriously.

It bears noting that I told him a couple of times that the scope of the project was ginormous for an unexperienced team, but people often suffer from "No, but I am different and special, I can pull this, because I am the one".
Don't get me wrong, EVERYONE is special and different and that is great, but there is reality. Ambitious projects fails more often than not, especially when it is backed by motivational speech and positive thoughts. Yup, sounds about right.

Months ago I ranted about how organizing a gamedev team through discord was a redflag for an unexperienced team biting more than they could chew and believing that development was some groovy hangout.
Well, guess what, the guy that hired me and vanished with some of my payment came back from the dead, paid me 4 months too late and stated that....gamedev isn't some groovy hangout, that he is inexperienced and bit more than he could chew.

Just added 6 shields to the Battle Kit I to be used together with the newly added block animations. I also added 3 frames sheets to the monsters, weapons and shields if anyone want to use them as SV actors on RPG Maker. It is worth to note that since RMK has the weapon size hardcoded one will need a plugin in order to use my sheets!

The Slime Queen joins the fray!
I have just added the first boss to the Battle Kit I asset pack. The bosses will follow the same animation pattern as the regular monsters, but are consistently bigger, filling most of the 72x72 canvas. More bosses to come for this pack yet!

Okay, so far I have 323,680 possible combinations - at least - for my charset. Still have to wrap up back items, arms, chest, belt, pants and boots, so yeah, this will get huge, long way to go. Hope people will like it when it is done, will be my biggest asset pack so far.

Fediverse, let me know your thoughts.
Since I don't let itch.io handle my purchases, I have access to the customers e-mail address - well, at least the one they used for either paypal or stripe.
I am thinking about mailing these customers an unique discount voucher for anything in my shop. But I dunno if that would be shitty of my part instead of being a way to thank them for their support, since they haven't opted in. What do you guys think?

Okay, okay, hear me out. Wanna know a big red flag if a game art/game dev is gonna fail? If they have a discord server. I know it is anecdotal experience, but in all my career, 100% of all the gigs I got that had their organization happening through discord, all of them failed, most of the time the lead just disappeared in thin air or their had this very stupid argument for very stupid reasons.
Got a gig and they gather on discord? Get out.

So, for the last couple of months I have been working on a DIY arcade booth for the boxing gym where I train. This gym is a very special place where disenfranchised kids have free boxing lessons as long as they are going to school. Some of those kids spend most of their days at the gym and I felt like I could offer them some entertainment with something that is very dear to me. Here how it started.
