I finished Mirror's Edge today, a game that I really longed to play when I was younger. But I've gotta say, kinda disappointing. The story started out kinda nice, but mid-to-late game both the story and game felt really rushed. Also the guidance system became noticeably worse at "guiding" me during the later half.
All-in-all I'm glad I got to play it, but I think once was enough 😜

I'm still trying to map what features my community wants from an alternative, but what other options are out there? I just read a blogpost about XMPP, and severs are good but clients are lagging behind.
Matrix is also seeing adoption from EU countries, and there are different server solutions out there as well. Can't certain resource-hog-processes be disabled somehow?

My #Discord community might be looking to migrate to a different service, and preferably I would like to steer them towards something #SelfHosted, possibly #Matrix ?
So, any #SelfHosting fans out there - how difficult is it to host&manage a Matrix-server? What kind of hardware would be necessary for 50 - 100 users? What features would we be missing compared to Discord?

I mean, I open up Cinny and it's more or less the same as Element, as far as I can tell at least.
Are we able to have Spaces with Rooms, where certain Rooms only act as VOIP-rooms that you can join/leave as you wish? I see a button up right in Element that allows you to start a video-call inside of a room, but I can't seem to use that unless I've got permission. Does that call everybody in the room somehow, or?

Do you have a roadmap of some sorts? As a casual user, it's a bit difficult to understand where the project is headed 🤔
Personally I'm looking for a replacement for my Discord-group that we can self-host, that also allows us to connect to a broader community. Matrix seems to align ideologically to what I want, but Element feels a bit cluttered and unintuitive tbh.

Interesting thoughts, I'll have to ponder on this 🤔 But then it sounds like you would still want democracy, but on a smaller and much more local scale? Perhaps more akin to the democracies of the old Greeks, where everyone comes together to vote directly on issues?

More fine-control over sensitivity warnings is a nice touch; what is considered sensitive varies a lot from person to person 🙈
I have not checked, but does PeerTube allow you to mark videos others post as sensitive based on tags? I mean only for your personal viewer discretion of course. 🤔

I just wanted to make a post of gratitude and #Appreciation to the makers and maintainers of #Wine and #Lutris. Thanks to you, not only are almost all of my games playable on #Linux, but many of my older games are also accessible to me on my modern hardware 😃 Currently started playing The Longest Journey (Den Lengste Reisen) today, with Norwegian dialogue and voice acting from the oooold OG discs sold here in Norway.

I recently started playing the System Shock Remake that came out in 2023. So far, I’m really enjoying the atmosphere—it manages to capture a 'retro' feel, probably thanks to its indie-style visuals. I’m fully immersed and ready for more! 😎👍🏻
