Whenever I talk about traditional systems, proven successful for millennia and still working today, someone always objects up with what “should be.”

They’ll pitch a backwards utopian scheme that’s never worked in human history or a brand-new, untested idea that’s only just emerging.

It's always someone who is a complete failure at the subject in question, yet also an expert in their own mind.

Then they act as if their conviction and warm, fuzzy feelings alone guarantee success.

They don’t have a plan, they haven’t thought through the details, and they’re betting everything on going dead-opposite of what reality has proven.

Yet they insist sheer conviction will bend the world to their vision.

It’s magical thinking masquerading as progress.
