Happiness is extremely non-competitive.

Being happy,

Essentially means you're dead.

It means you're done working.

You're done pushing for more.

If you're happy with your salary, why would you work to raise it?

If you're happy with your house, why would you work to get a better one?

Happy with your life, why would you try to upgrade it?

DISCONTENT is a prerequisite to ambition.

SADNESS is power.

ANGER is power.

Happiness is an anesthetic.

It's going to slow you down.

And the truth is,

You aren't MEANT to find it.

The endless pursuit of happiness is the driving force for change.

Most people pursue happiness into hell.

A few people pursue it to greatness.

But the people who find it stay exactly where they are.

The most optimal mental state of a man is not happiness.

It is a mix of anger, frustration and hope.

Put happiness where you want to go.

Put happiness in being great.

Chase happiness once you've placed it in the correct spot.

But truthfully,

You never want to fully reach it.
