Each to their own, free one rely on phone numbers, paid ones don't need anything else because money is sufficient, others rely on invite codes.. whatever. It is a hard problem and when someone fix it everyone else immediately wants to use them as Identity provider... That is why "sign in with Gmail" is so fucking popular... Shit is hard and expensive.. but it has nothing to do with KYC whatsoever.
