I’m always amazed at how unobservant some people are.
I can’t even help noticing small details. I can tell you how my mom holds her sandwich a little differently from most people. I know my parents daily routines and what time they do it.
I’ve made observations about my dad my mom never noticed. She’s lived with him for 50 years. It probably took me a day to notice.
I can tell the difference between Ava crying for food after she’s used the litter box vs before.
I’m always alert. Always watching people’s behaviours. I’m wondering if it’s because it’s a self-protection mechanism I’ve developed.
If you feel safe you probably don’t notice the little things as much, but if you need to know what is going on in order to know if it’s safe to move around in the world then you likely notice every little detail.
But ask me to find something in a full fridge and I’ll likely never find it even after looking several times unless I’m one who organized everything and I know its location ahead of time. I get overwhelmed with chaos so I tune it out.
So I can seem hyper observant and also completely unobservant in certain circumstances 😅
