Whenever somebody claims something is an elaborate hoax, I ask to what end? Who benefits and what do they gain? This isn't the AI buildout with over a trillion dollars of investment money flooding in. A few small research grants to a few universities, but the two investing the most, IBM and Google, are investing in their own research laboratories. Nobody bought more Google stock on account of the research papers from the Willow project. There was no rally in the stock when they announced that they had mostly solved quantum error correction. So what's the game if it's a hoax?
