I don't care about ICE deporting criminals; that's fine and they're honestly not even deporting that many. It's not enough to be significant. But I also think, even retarded states, should still be able to have their own enforcement efforts not be hindered as well. If they had bad policies, well it's their right to enforce those bad policies and let their state collapse.
That being said, this whole ICE thing is a psychological operation. The states are probably fine with it because the leaders are actually federalists and they're playing the propaganda game for their own benefit. I've written how I think various aspects of these are psychological operations:
