When people tell you “the world is a certain way,”
they are usually just describing their world.

If someone says:
“There are no good men.”
What they really mean is:
“I cannot attract a good man.”

If someone says:
“There are no good women.”
What they really mean is:
“I cannot attract a good woman.”

The same logic applies everywhere:
- “There are no good jobs.” = “I cannot earn one.”
- “You cannot trust anyone.” = “I am untrustworthy.”
- “Everything is corrupt.” = “I have no power to resist corruption.”

Most of what people say about the world
is just a confession about themselves.
