Jan 20th, 1981 - my birthday. I was in grade school, just a kid. My birthday was still important to me.
In a series of events that I didn't understand at the time, Iran basically helped Reagan win the election by taking Americans hostage. I was well aware of the hostages, but didn't understand any of the politics. I was a child.
On my birthday, the day the president was inaugurated, the hostages were released.
And everyone forgot my birthday. It was the worst b-day I had.
Until tomorrow.
