I haven't heard anyone talking about this possibility yet about the #SignalGate ( or better #whiskeyLeaks ).
It would have been a brilliant attack if an adversary managed to breached Mike Waltz iCloud / Google contacts account, and deliberately changed the phone number of a critical contact into the number of a journalist.
Admitting to this would be extremely damning, as it would imply all of Mike Waltz personal digital assets had been compromised, so claiming incompetence would be preferable.
