I dunno I might be off topic and depends how deep down the rabbit hole you wanna go but i think a functioning society needs money.
Its a absolute must. Its the bedrock of a civilization. If it doesnt have it, it goes creates it. Be it rocks, beads or precious metals or digital. And if you look at history and you have shitty money, once the money collapses so does your civilization and all the people in it.
