The most frustrating thing about cycling is being caught behind someone on a flat road who is riding with a low gear and their legs are spinning like turbines but they are moving so slowly that even if I have been coasting for a whole minute, I have to put on my breaks to avoid overtaking them.

These people think, "Just pass me!" — but in most cases it is not safe to pass.

1. On a *road* I can't safely pass because there are cars whose actions I cannot predict.

2. On a cycle path, I can't pass because there is opposing traffic.

My message to people who are riding bicycles is: learn to ride it properly before you get on the road. Riding extremely slowly is not safer — it is more dangerous because it causes other people to do dangerous things.
