On August 30th, 51 #Bitcoiners gathered at Bethel Hotel, Gitega — the first hotel in Burundi orange-pilled and accepting #Bitcoin payments.
This month’s theme: “From Learning to Building” 🧱
🎤 Highlights:
Belyi shared insights on launching & growing Bitcoin initiatives.
Anniella Dushime presented the Bitcoin for Change Club at @upgitega.
Avaxe Ndayisenga (BitDevs Gitega) showcased My Satoshi, a locally built SATs converter.
Nobel Pace (Trezor Academy Fellow) spoke on building sustainable Bitcoin projects.
Panel moderated by Barakana ( Trezor Academy Host Burundi).
📲 Over 20 new users onboarded to @blinkbtc, with sats distributed via Batch Payments ⚡️
✅ Real peer-to-peer transactions done live.
💡 From student clubs to FOSS tools, Burundi’s Bitcoin community is moving from knowledge to action.
