The Democrats’ concerns seem to be rooted in the idea that they’ll alienate voters but running to the center got us another four years of Trump. As I’ve often said, I wish the Democrats were actually the Democrats that Republicans keep warning us about. They’re going to call you socialist anyway, so why not lean into it for once? You’ve lost all the levers of power being feckless. Maybe try something else for a change? It couldn’t be worse than it is now, could it?
