Emil Jacobs - Collectifission on Nostr: Below final report on the Iberian blackout last year has been very happily received ...

Below final report on the Iberian blackout last year has been very happily received by the only-renewable community. To quote Jan Rosenow from his LinkedIn post: "BREAKING: The blackout in Spain and Portugal in April 2025 did NOT happen because of renewables."

The report indeed carefully avoided blaming renewables, and pointed the blame to all kinds of other factors. So, it was the *system* unable to handle massive amounts of solar, don't you understand?!

Yeah, that was exactly the critique. The lack of inertia in the grid, for example, made it very susceptible for this kind of breakdown. It would be wise for Spain to keep a significant amount of inertia available in the system.

Anyway, there's probably more to follow from the 500-page report. To be continued.
