My friend and I run the market, along with our Freedom Cell. It's our 4th year...and forecast update, looks like most of the rain is isolate to maybe an hour or so now, as opposed to the all-day stuff they were showing up until this morning lol
As far as customers, we have not held our markets consistently this year due to the venue owner having to help move an elderly relative in June, and in July, we hosted Derrick Broze in our metro area so we didn't want to have both events the same week. So customers we have are just foot traffic. Not everyone promotes their booths to their fans/customers, etc. We are at a somewhat major intersection so we get lots of eyeballs and are there from 11 to 4 so some stop and come in, some drive or walk by and come back to visit.
Most of us use weights sitting on the feet of, or tied to our canopy stilts.
The venue is owned by one of our members and is closed Saturdays so we can use the front and back lot, which is great. There are two extension cords for people to use if needed, and there's a water cooler and bathroom inside for vendors, but otherwise everyone is responsible for their own stuff like sunscreen, sanitizer, etc. This year and last year, the mom of one of our vendors joined us, and she sells baked goods (breads and sweets) as well as canned things, like salsa, peppers, pickled things, jams, and she has also sold food like hot dogs, chili, chips, coleslaw, etc., which makes it nice for customers to get a quick and cheap lunch and great for us vendors as well, so we don't have to go far from our booths when we get hungry.
I have two fans, both run by battery, one is rechargeable and switches to battery when that runs out. I have only seen one other person bring a fan lol.
