When I was a kid, nobody we knew had cellphones, because it hadn't been invented... Or if it had, it wasn't here
So my parents would just drive to their friend's place ane their friends would "put the kettle on" and have tea, and they'd find a toy box of toys for us kids. And we'd stay an hour or two then head home.
