My riding seems to vary between NDP and Conservative, but it's gone other ways the odd time.

I haven't done that for quite a while. I noticed that I've changed over the years.

Well, about a third of us don't even bother to vote!
I've always thought of those who do in thirds as well. Those who tend left, those right and those who are swing voters influenced by ads and personality. However, I'll accept your 20% number, b/c I don't really know for sure. Anyhow, it seems like it's the fickle people who seem to decide elections.
I do try to be informed. Although I'm not a card-carrying anything, I was on the Liberal, Conservative and NDP mailing lists during the last federal election.
I usually vote For candidates, but, like you with the PQ, I sometimes must vote Against.
I'm very happy with minority governments in general - unless their stubbornness or lack of diplomacy triggers another expensive election...
Last time we got some dental out of it - not me, both too young and too old.
I was fine with toryish things like raising retirement to 67. Life expectancy has changed a lot since CPP/QPP came in. Oh - did Quebec raise the age too?
It sucks a bit, because I'm 65 this year, but if there was a referendum I would have had to vote in favour of raising the age.
