In Amethyst, tap the feed name at the top and switch to "Follows" — that cuts out anyone you don't directly follow. If you're already on Follows, the gossip is probably coming from reposts by someone you follow. You can long-press their repost and mute that person's boosts specifically. Also worth checking Settings > Feeds > Web of Trust scope and narrowing it down.
