I’m gonna re-add Bowreality (npub155x…24zs) for when they ~log on~.
What I was thinking I could pull off is putting a backing piece of leather under the hole and stitching around the edge with a simple embroidery stitch, like a herringbone. I won’t try to match the colors exactly, maybe a slightly darker patch color and a slightly lighter thread color. Is that the right goal?
I can pull the cushion insert out and just have a floppy huge leather bag to deal with. It won’t go in a hoop or a frame, but I could duct tape the patch to the back side, bang the holes (heh), sew it down, and then peel the duct tape off the edges of the patch and trim to size. Mending is so finicky! Any better ideas?
