In a weird 'everything old is new again moment we're back to the opening era with helping people with Linux adoption.

For a long time Linux has been for use by computing professionals, whilst being of interest to hobbyists.

But the wheel has now returned to a point where there is a tide of new people, who have never used a Unix-like system, who want to migrate their data, so are doing the trickiest type of installation, and need a hand over the initial hurdle.

I am all for it. Operating systems die if they don't have Real Life Users. Just in the past two years it has become very apparent why a free software operating system is a good choice for personal use.
