npub1smhgktylyuqqv9dlnxj0aq65s3fzesh2fku47g9z5r6qt9napgasp9hvr3 (npub1smh…hvr3) I blame the writers. Gilligan wanted to make a cautionary tale type show where Walter White makes some bad choices and becomes DOOMED from it.
Gilligan couldn't deal with his character becoming a beloved anti-hero (Cranston was too good) which also explains the shitty writing at the series end as a ham fisted attempt to shoehorn everything into that original vision. He couldn't let Walt win or break even but must pay for it all in spades.
