Seems like everyone in the northern hemisphere is doing the #Gardening Reckoning this weekend, so I’ll play along too.
The winners all grew well and gave (or are very close to giving) good food that I or my peeps enjoyed eating. Mine were: tomatoes, radishes, cucumbers, eggplant, pepper (but maybe that’s a ? instead), strawberries, raspberries, pears, apples, squash, leeks, oregano, mint, rhubarb, and sunflowers.
The losers failed, more or less spectacularly. Onions, corn, potatoes (but they’re also a ?), peaches, nectarines, blueberries, spring brassicas, and spring carrots.
The ?’s were a mixed bag. They grew food, but we didn’t like it or there wasn’t remotely enough, or they haven’t gotten close enough to ripeness for me to call them a win. Those were the potatoes, melons, lettuce, green beans, dry beans, winter brassicas, winter carrots, and basil.
I learned so much!
